It is, of course, April 1st and I have always, always attempted to prank my daughters on this day. For the most part, this stopped being successful decades ago, but sometimes I get them just when they’re waking and so they do not yet remember the date. For a second, I’m in fool heaven.
But today, I think I outsmarted them. I wrote an email with something so outlandish that I am sure they dismissed it instantly as an April Fool’s mom-is-at-it-again thing. Except that it was the truth: daughters, I wrote them, I’m off to Poland soon, for a Saturday afternoon in Warsaw.
Now, here’s the thing: is it a fool’s gag? And if so, am I teasing Ocean readers as well? Given yesterday’s post, you may think yes. Or... no.
Time will tell.

Gorgeous daffodils! Mine have been popping up in the yard for some time now. Every year for as long as I can remember, my mom and I have picked out and/or planted bulbs together. And there's usually a blossom count, too.
Don't worry about naysayers. People can always find something negative in everything. Much more a reflection of them.
Happy April!

If that photo doesn't embody spring, I don't know what does. Thanks for the image to start my day.
I have a son in Stockholm, and, previously, a son in Trondheim. Flights are way too expensive in the summer. If a cheap flight popped up, even for a few days, and I could take a couple days free, I would jump at the chance to wander in and wander out. I have done so in the past, not regretted a moment of the chance to chat with old friends, buy the kid a dinner with washable flatweare. No schedule. No hurry. In and out. I guess I am in the minority here, but I would suggest you get outta town. God tur!
